Knock It Down Songtext
von The Proclaimers

On a rainy afternoon, there′s a toddler at my feet
Who's offended, I don′t cheer at the sight, I have to greet

'Cause he only builds it up to knock it down
Yeah, he only builds it up to knock it down

On another afternoon down a dismal Dublin street
There's a man who′s gettin′ soaked 'cause it′s coming down his cheeks

'Cause they only built him up to knock him down
Yeah, they only built him up to knock him down

Don′t take it personally, it's only natural
And unconfined, it is sure
Eating and abetting, healthy bloodletting
Makes one for you and yours

On a gentrified old road, there′s a church that's had its day
People don't go anymore and it′s standing in the way

Didn′t they only build it up to knock it down?

Don't take it personally, it′s only natural
And unconfined, it is sure
Eating and abetting, healthy bloodletting
Makes one for you and yours

On a rainy afternoon, there's a toddler at my feet
Who′s offended, I don't cheer at the sight, I have to greet

′Cause he only builds it up to knock it down
Yeah, he only builds it up to knock it down
