When I was a young it's like I had a next energy
My mum said to me you can be who you want to be
A few years later I was a bit of a cunt you see
It was up to me but didn't know which way to go
Say it aint so but everyone I know had done the same
Acting a certain way to get their part in the play
Coz our role models narrated in an evil way
When I was young did I run from myself and commercialise?
I don't know but hindsight's left my mind wise
I always had the potential to shine bright
But worried about my credentials to the wrong eyes
I was a lost guy, why was I so insecure?
Went from pure to getting lured into being stupid


Fixated on being bad, thought I was seeing cupid
If I look back now...

I remember one time a wise man said to me
He said you should be afraid to be yourself!
Coz being yourself has no place and space on the shelf (ha!)
It's all money and status, social hierarchy
Was a bit of a liar to some, wanted them to like me
But I didn't fit the mould
Too wise for the road
Too cold for your home
Where do I belong?
Anywhere but somewhere where I feel like someone else
Well as I get older I'm starting to find myself
An important part for anyone's mind and health
Before I cared too much, I tried remember how I felt
The way the world works they ant us to be self-conscious
Buy this and that to feel good but it's all nonsense
I'm a real man who says it how it is
