Who Would've Known Songtext

Doubtful eyes,
You sit back and analyze.
No one knows the way I feel inside
Less than you do.
This life is so ambitious,
Superstitious,
Most of all it′s so malicious.
Compliments can lead to frailty,
Ensuingly they seem to ail me.

I don't need your fire to drive me higher-
I′ve got a fire that burns on its own.
I don't need the tips of stiffened lips:
I have my own- who would've known?

Depending on another voice to make me strong,
Takes me where I don′t belong at all,
Spring or fall.
But the lights ahead of me
Blink, red, steadily,
Posing threats that sink like lead in me.
Drinking wine from broken glasses,
Drips the blood to stain the ashes.

I don′t need the minds of those who bind,
Lord knows I've got a mind of my own.
I don′t need the brains of those who wane:
I have my own- who would've known?
Who would′ve known?

I don't need your fire to drive me higher-
I′ve got a fire that burns on its own.
I don't need the tips of stiffened lips:
I have my own- who would've known?
Who would′ve known?
