I remember when I was younger
I saw the pictures on tv
Of the children who were my age
Who had to live their lives in fear

I sang the peace songs
With the hopeful ones
We believed the world would change and all′d be free

It was a shout in the distance

Now I′m older, maybe wiser
Maybe more a cynic than before
But I still long for a new day
Let us pray with many millions strong
