1987 Songtext
von Everlast

West side of the valley, 1987
Me and all my best friends outside 7-11
Trying to make beer runs out the store
Like a dozen times before

West side of the valley, 1987
We could take Topanga out
And eat at Zuma 7
And we could drink beers out on the shore
Like a dozen times before

We went to house parties up in the West Hills
With no money, had to find cheap thrills
They never tell the young that speed kills
They never tell the young
We crashed beach parties in North Malibu
The valley boys bound to start a fight or two
Never leave the neighborhood without your crew
We never leave alone

West side of the valley, 1987
Her name was Chanel
And she fell straight from heaven

Let me help you pick yourself up off the floor
Like a dozen times or more

We went to house parties up in the West Hills
With no money, had to find cheap thrills
They never tell the young that speed kills
They never tell the young
We crashed beach parties in North Malibu
The valley boys bound to start a fight or two
Never leave the neighborhood without your crew
We never leave alone

West side of the valley, 1987
Didn′t know how young we were
No idea where we were heading
When opportunity knocks at your door
Tell me what you're gonna be waiting for?

We went to house parties up in the West Hills
With no money, had to find cheap thrills
They never tell the young that speed kills
They never tell the young
We crashed beach parties in North Malibu
The valley boys bound to start a fight or two
Never leave the neighborhood without your crew
We never leave alone

We went to house parties up in the West Hills
With no money, had to find cheap thrills
We never tell the young that speed kills
We never tell the young

West side of the valley, 1987, we were just so young, alive, free
