The room turned cold and still
And silence filled the air
Your eyes remained wide open
Yet vacant, cold and unaware
It seemed like any ordinary day
It rained for a while until the clouds all passed away
Then the sun broke through a gap between the curtains
And played upon your face

I watched all night for hours, you never knew that I was there
I stayed there till the end, until you disappeared
And I wonder if I′ll miss you in the days that follow these
'Coz it seems that there are few things worth remembering


And the days and years rolled by
I hardly spared a thought for you
Though it seems quite reprehensible
It is God′s own honest truth
And now and then I feel a kind of emptiness
And I wonder where you are
I'd like to reach outside myself and touch you
But you seem so very far
And every time I think about the times we used to fight
I get a sense of what I've lost and what I never had
It′s too late for these regrets, no sense lamenting my neglect
I only wish that I′d wept then, for just one moment
