Times Square Songtext
von Soft Cell

I met you at a movie in Times Square
In the middle of the afternoon
I looked like I′d been out since last night
And I didn't have any shoes

The film was a B-movie trash fest
A slasher of the ′80s kind
But I wasn't really watching the movie
I had better things on my mind

A little kid was sitting in front of me
His wide eyes were watching the screen
Dropped his ice cream and he shouted
"Mommy, tell me it's only a dream"

In Times Square (in Times Square)
You don′t know what you′ll see there (what you'll see there)
It′s crazy and it's wild there (and it′s wild there)
But it's really very nice there (it′s very nice there)
In Times Square (in Times Square)
Somebody's gonna steal there (gonna steal there)
Everything you have there (you have there)
You're gonna watch your movie
And you′re gonna leave your heart there

I just wanted to dance outside but
It was raining like a tropical monsoon
So I drank you out into the daylight
In the heat of the afternoon
I swallowed a pill and you kissed me
You said, "We′ve got nothing to hide"
We ran out and danced in the rainstorm
You said, "Baby, let's go for a ride"

In Times Square (in Times Square)
You don′t know what you'll see there (what you′ll see there)
It's crazy and it′s wild there (and it's wild there)
But it's really very nice there (it′s very nice there)
In Times Square (in Times Square)
Somebody′s gonna steal there (gonna steal there)
Everything you have there (you have there)
You're gonna watch your movie
And you′re gonna leave your heart there

We went to a movie in Times Square
We didn't want to stay ′til the end
They're all gonna die in it anyway
I′m sorry it was only pretend
We wanted to dance in the rainstorm
So we took off our T-shirts and shoes
And be the stars in our own movie
In this wonderland they call the dew

In Times Square (in Times Square)
You don't know what you'll see there (what you′ll see there)
It′s crazy and it's wild there (and it′s wild there)
But it's really very nice there (it′s very nice there)
In Times Square (in Times Square)
All the lights are so fantastic (gonna steal there)
And with you it's so amazing (you have there)
When the neon lights are blazing
And you′re gonna leave your heart there

And you're gonna leave your heart there
And you're gonna leave your heart there
And you′re gonna leave your heart there
And you′re gonna leave your heart there
