My close friends warned me that it was useless to try

Well, I just tipped my hat and I flew all around the world

Well, I made me a submarine and I went for a sail
My close friends warned me that I was doomed to fail
They said, "It's so heavy, it′s gonna sink right on down
Believe it, you′ll wind up in pieces if you don't come around"

Well, I just gave them a wink and I sailed all around the world
Just me and my submarine

Then I found me a woman just as fine as can be
My close friends warned me she was bad company
They whispered, "It′s so heavy, it'll never get off the ground
Believe it, they′ll wind up in pieces when it finally cools down"

Well, we just gave them a smile and we took off around the world
Just me and my woman
