Jenny Writes Letters Songtext

Jenny Writes Letters Songtext

Jenny writes her letters as winter wakes the spring
There′s a thousand fragments but not one song to sing
Time waits for no man it just brings you to your knees
And drags you to wherever it may please

Who reads them anyway?
Is it half the life you hoped for?
Did you have something to say?
Who reads them anyway?

The fields are all ablaze now and the town is full of ghosts
Reminders of the folks we used to know
We play bows and arrows with the chances we get
We know there's an end we just don′t believe it yet

Who reads them anyway?
Is it half the life you hoped for?
Did you have something to say?
Who reads them anyway?
And how much time do we have to waste?

We spend too long looking out of windows
Thinking we know what's going on
That the stories we make are the truths that cannot change
And who reads them anyway?

The river's frozen over and circle is complete
And Jenny posts those letters every week

Who reads them anyway?
Is it half the life you hoped for?
Did you have something to say?
Who reads them anyway?
Is it half the life you hoped for?
Did you have something to say?
Who reads them anyway?
