Enkeldoorn in Arizona Songtext
von John Edmond

Enkeldoorn in Arizona Songtext

Old soldier from Rhodesia packed his things and went his way,
Made a new life for himself in Arizona U.S.A.
But he kept his cammo jacket though it was a little torn
From those contacts in the valley
That they fought amongst the thorn.
One day in that cammo jacket
He found memories of the war,
A photograph. a dog-tag and a piece of two by four
And while going through the pockets
He felt in his trembling hands,
A thorn seed that he planted in the Arizona sands.
Now there′s an Enkeldoorn in Arizona,
Growing in the Arizona sand.
Like that Enkeldoorn, that old soldier

Is growing in his new found land.
Now the tree has grown taller and the years are passing by
And there's a red flame-lily sunset in the Arizona sky
And he thinks of all the old times,
His shamwaries and the war
And the tattered cammo jacket still hangs behind the door.
Now there′s an Enkeldoorn in Arizona,
Growing in the Arizona sand.
Like that Enkeldoorn, that old soldier
Is growing in his new found land.
Now there's an Enkeldoorn in Arizona,
Growing in the Arizona sand.
Like that Enkeldoorn, that old soldier
Is growing in his new found land.
