Another Man Songtext

Another Man Songtext
I remember ′57 when the corn refused to grow
And we'd walk along between every single row
And our hands would feel the scorching sand
As our eyes in grief would close
And we′d pray the Lord for mercy He might show
There were times I felt abandoned
By the one who brought me there
To dwell alone in the pain I had to bear
But He'd take my hand in the evening
And soothe away the pain
And I think I'd hear the drops of a summer rain
There were days we had our good times
With our friends around our home
You know we loved to hear it called our own
But I miss those ocean breezes
And the sand between my toes
And the sight of bougainvillea we had grown
There were times I felt abandoned
By the one who brought me there
To dwell alone in the pain I had to bear
But He′d take my hand in the evening
And soothe away the pain
And I think I′d hear the drops of a summer rain
Looking back upon our life here
And the seeds that we have sown
I think about the people we have known
And as I recall their faces
And the kindness we've been shown
I can see how deep our roots have grown
There were times I felt abandoned
By the one who brought me there
To dwell alone in the pain I had to bear
But He′d take my hand in the evening
And soothe away the pain
And I think I'd hear the drops of a summer rain
Yes, I think I′d hear the drops of a summer rain
And we'd walk along between every single row
And our hands would feel the scorching sand
As our eyes in grief would close
And we′d pray the Lord for mercy He might show
There were times I felt abandoned
By the one who brought me there
To dwell alone in the pain I had to bear
But He'd take my hand in the evening
And soothe away the pain
And I think I'd hear the drops of a summer rain
There were days we had our good times
With our friends around our home
You know we loved to hear it called our own
But I miss those ocean breezes
And the sand between my toes
And the sight of bougainvillea we had grown
There were times I felt abandoned
By the one who brought me there
To dwell alone in the pain I had to bear
But He′d take my hand in the evening
And soothe away the pain
And I think I′d hear the drops of a summer rain
Looking back upon our life here
And the seeds that we have sown
I think about the people we have known
And as I recall their faces
And the kindness we've been shown
I can see how deep our roots have grown
There were times I felt abandoned
By the one who brought me there
To dwell alone in the pain I had to bear
But He′d take my hand in the evening
And soothe away the pain
And I think I'd hear the drops of a summer rain
Yes, I think I′d hear the drops of a summer rain
