The Stovecook and the Waitress Songtext

The Stovecook and the Waitress Songtext

"If there′s trouble, I wanna know,
In a second I'll be there",
Said the stovecook to the waitress,
And she sat and brushed her hair.
She said,
"Stovecook you couldn′t even kill a cockroach without crying,
I'll be fine".

"I'm sorry sir, you′ve got to go",
Said the waitress to a man,
Who was dancing around the restaurant,
With his penis in his hand.
And she grabbed him by the ear
And she threw him to the pavement.

"I could′ve helped you out you know",
Said the stovecook and he sighed
And in the hour before morning
When gentle comes the light.
And they sat upon their plastic chairs
And waited for the sunrise.

"You know if you were my girl,
I would never treat you wrong,
And I'll kill that motherfucker
Next time he comes along",
Said the stovecook to the waitress
When she came in every now and then,
With bruises from her friend.

"I′m sorry sir, you've got to go",
Said the waitress to a man,
Who was screaming bloody murder,
And when he raised his hand
I was there right beside you,
Like I said that I would be all along,
My darling, I′ll never let you cry.

There's a moment when the darkness
Starts to fade out of the night,
In the hour before morning
When gently comes the light.
And he laid upon the cold cold floor
And said "I think I′m dying".

Dim sims, and burgers,
And potato cakes, and pizzas,
And angel headed hipsters,
And the vicious creatures,
And beer and blood and vomit.
And a cold sharp breeze that comes from somewhere
Far away from here.
