Full of rats reached Sicily
They brought us plague, we got contracted
Our cities unarmed, pestilence had struck


Black blisters with pus that spilled blood
Covered our skin, our livers and lungs
My dearests died, in agony all cried
The smell of death, their corpses putrefied

Father abandoned child, husband forsaken wife
The Black Death seemed to strike through the breath and sight

And in this bed of pain, suffering in vain
I wait the men with the coats with the beak shaped nose
Blades cut my veins and let out the blood
To claim my life or die within this flood
