Blood of the Morning Star Songtext

Lands drift apart and oceans grow
Souls like me only live to see the glow
Lights through the mist and
Spark through the waves
Task ain′t done 'til a new ground we gaze
Hope is the last thing to keep a man sane
When all else seems so vain

As the darkness falls
And the last bell tolls
From the unseen shoreline
Route unknown
Right now, alone
I atone

The longest of the nights prevail
Trust in the dawn never fail
The morning star will rise again
With bloody shade of red

Drunken tales in the tavern again
Ears like mine tend to hear them sayin′
There's untold fortune and
Paradise there

Where no man went and
No-one ever dare
Greed is the last thing to keep one alive
When all else seems to abide

As the darkness falls
And the last bell tolls
From the unseen shoreline
Route unknown
Right now, alone
I atone

The longest of the nights prevail
Trust in the dawn never fail
The morning star will rise again
With bloody shade of red

Why, why did I let myself
Entwine and sink in mindless pride?
Lie, lie, only lie after lie
It's too late to take my side anymore
Live to see only death as the course of life
It′s enough to kill the flame in me

These old wives′ tales
In the corner of the inn
Should leave my dreams alone
Souls sacrificed on this journey of lies
Paint morning star red for me

History books tell the stories in our days
Justice is done but a written word remains
Reader's Digest and Discovery
Have no idea what it′s like to be me
Some things best to be left alone
As the morning star has shown

As the darkness falls
And the last bell tolls
From the unseen shoreline
Route unknown
Right now, alone
I atone

The longest of the nights prevail
Trust in the dawn never fail
The morning star will rise again
With bloody shade of red
