Born on the South Side Songtext

Born on the South Side Songtext

Born on the south side my family was poor
Slept on the back porch since I was four
I loved the blues and rock was cool and country was so fine
I missed a lot of school I played my records all the time

Had me a brother who taught me guitar
Had no idea it would take me so far
I played the blues and I was grooving music kept me alive
I missed a lot of school listening to the Motown sides

I was a poor boy from the south side when I left my home
With just a guitar and some fast moves I took them out on the road

Top of the pop charts year after year
Only the hot spots I would appear
I paid my dues and still love the blues and that good old rock n roll
A little bit of each turned my records into gold

I was a poor boy from the south side when I left my home
With just a guitar and some fast moves I took them out on the road

I was a poor boy from the south side no one knew my name
But just a guitar and some fast moves brought me fortune and fame
I′m out on the road I'm out on the road
