Heart Cut in Half Songtext

Heart Cut in Half Songtext

Sweet Litttle Mary
A good Catholic girl
Pure as a grandma′s Rosary
Of Pearl Harbor pearls.

She went off to college
To unlearn the facts
And held the Bible differently
When she got back

Now she wears a heart cut in half

One day she married
And had children too
They played on Sundays
And we're made to pray in school.

She′s got a stable husband
A house and the blues
And an old diploma
That she aches to use.

She wears a heart cut in half

Every Christmas eve
And every Easter she
Dresses up her family
And to Mass they go
Where she bares her soul
To hide the heart on her sleeve

Sweet little Mary
A good wife and mom
But with the pent-up passion
Ticking like a bomb.

She met a man at the drug store
They walked and talked
And cried and laughed.

She held her husband differently
When she got back.

She wears a heart cut in half
