Animal prints blemish the snow
A hollow drama played hours ago
Sun′s slipping under the pain
Say goodbye to the day again


I gaze to the red-orange ball
As it slides behind cool black metal crane
And wonder
The reasons
Why lives are hung in petty balance
Why?
What selfish profit justifies this?

Storm window rattles a chilling song
Echoes a strain that something is wrong
Twilight shadows the barn
Distant hooves of the pale horse come and gone
