Folks, I′m telling you something that I saw with my own eyes
As I passed the pond one day
The old alligator was teaching his babies to do the Georgia Grind
And I heard one of them say:
"This is a social
But the alligator pond's going dry

Now, old Mister Alligator, he got way back
He said, "Look out, children, I'm going to throw it off my back"
Oh, it was a social
But the alligator pond went dry

Now, old Mister Alligator, he got real hot
He said, "We're gonna have this function whether there′s water or not"

Wasn′t a drop of water in the pond when he got back
