Long ago in our last night
When gods betted lives for their fun
A sudden fire engulfed us
We didn′t realize the owl had sung
It sang to warn us

All the walls and columns melted
It was not the temple but my eyes
A thunderous uproar boomed
It was not the crowd but it was just my ears

All the fathers stayed
Like dark titans watching us
In silence all the stars turned
Not to see and not to scream

I could not touch what in front of me I saw
And I could not see what my quivering hands touched
After the Seer spoke, something started swallowing me
And when the moth in my hand flew away, then I understood:
We would have become black sand to the wind


I'll recall forever: everything was whirling around me
And our feet left the ground for we were just falling upward
Twisting flashing lights turned into warping faces liquefying
A storm of blazing horrors while pale vestals of agony danced

We′ve been the comets and still we fall
And still we wander crossing the sky

Darkness was our only hope
And it finally came taking us apart
We tested how long centuries last
In a restless sleep for our skinless flesh

"And for so long we lived alone
Roaming among this cursed legacy
It should have lasted only for a while
But thousand eternities passed instead

Nothing remained in our memories
And nothing found a meaning within our affliction
While the most hideous havoc smouldered
In the deepest of the abysses

But here we meet again
Reunite by the spark that aroused us
Gazing at our eyes like mirrors
Towards a time that was and is no more


And at last all the doors open, and at last we can see again
How much time do we need before we'll go?
How much grief and how much misery?"

Will I drink again the manna of the gods from ruby chalices?
Will we dance again shrouded by incense and in precious silk?
Will we listen again to the mellow melodies
Of golden flutes and harps in divine halls?
You lay among the shining skies and above the worlds
