A boiling lake of pitch lies in front of us
A black devil′s approaching

His appearance: ferocious and ruthless
With open wings and light upon his feet

I'm the traveler of the burning abyss

He leads the Evil Claws
Their grappling-irons were turned against us

"Be none of you malignant!"
My master spoke and the devils stopped at once

"Let me go on, for it in Heaven is willed
That I another show this savage road."
