Captain Paranoia Songtext

Captain Paranoia Songtext
Terminal time for the crying clown
The captain tries hard to bring him down
No-one tried harder for less result
There must be some sense in it somewhere
Another dream, another dream
The boy tries hard to understand what this could mean
Draw a picture on his face
And send him spinning into space
No-one tried less to come back down
Than the crying clown
Another dream, another day
The boy tries hard to dream himself awake
"Did you read the news last night?"
The captain says
"There was a suicide in the park last night"
The captain said
"It must have been a headline
For it to stick in my mind
It′s typical, but then again
I wouldn't have thought they would find it so newsworthy"
And now I think I′ve blown my cool
I lie here wrapped in cotton wool
Hoping for cheap laugh
I'm always acting like my time
Revolves around a private tent
And posing for a photograph
I pick myself up from the floor
And try to make the door
There's a world outside, I′m sure
I′ve dreamed of it before
I get up from the floor
And try to make the door
There's a world outside, I′m sure
I've heard of it before
I get up from the floor
And try to make the door
There′s a world outside, I'm sure
I′ve lived in it before
The captain tries hard to bring him down
No-one tried harder for less result
There must be some sense in it somewhere
Another dream, another dream
The boy tries hard to understand what this could mean
Draw a picture on his face
And send him spinning into space
No-one tried less to come back down
Than the crying clown
Another dream, another day
The boy tries hard to dream himself awake
