This is where The Flower used to lie

I just watched it as it bled
The Flower looked into my eyes and it said

I thought we both might get out clean
Go and win myself a seat
Out where the brightest colours meet!

But The Thorns got me in sight
And they starved me of the light
They pumped the air full of their hate
And I let my Flower suffocate!

Is just The Thorns′ most promised land
Remains of beauty left bereft
Nothing but rubble and dead petals left
