Our Response Songtext
von The Forgotten

I don′t want to rule the world
Just to live in a free country
Just give me my land and my liberties
This is not how we were founded
Fathers wouldn't act this way
They wouldn′t keep our feet grounded
While we're living for today

We won't be frightened into houses
Won′t deterred from taking flight
We′re going to storm the streets
And live with all our might
I don't want to change the map
Won′t colonize the world
I want to recognize my birthright
As true son of liberty

Take advantage of what we've got
Don′t let your freedom rot
Know your rights through and through
Should have been a patriot
Before the bombs hit

I take pride in how we were built
Was built in '76
I respect the things it stood for
And the freedoms that it meant
To give up now would let them down
Won′t happen on my watch
I'll stand strong to fight it like
The culvert at the rock

I'm never tough or granted
All the freedoms that we have
The right to worship who I want
Or leave whenever I please
We choose our own officials
Well, at least that′s the idea
I′ve got the right to own a gun
To protect my interests here

Take advantage of what we've got
Don′t let your freedom rot
Know your rights through and through
Should have been a patriot
Before the bombs hit

I've tried to exercise my rights
At every fucking turn
These liberties we′re given
As much as they were earned
I thank our fighting forces
Who stand guard upon our dream
Without them to defend us
What's to come of our country?

I don′t want to rule the world
Just to live in a free country
Just give me my land and my liberties
This is not how we were founded
Fathers wouldn't act this way
They wouldn't keep our feet grounded
While we′re living for today

Take advantage of what we′ve got
Don't let your freedom rot
Know your rights through and through
Should have been a patriot
Before the bombs hit
