Alright, this next track is uh
When you look at the record anyway it′s called
"The Wizard Turns On"
And then when you, uh
Look further at the lyrics sheet or something
You will see the ridiculously long title
It says: "The Wizard Turns On The Giant Silver Flashlight
And Puts on His Werewolf Moccasins"
And we feel like it probably could've just gone on forever
And told like a novel length story
Something like "The Lord of The Rings" or something like that
My god, man
Um, and this is, uh
I think this is a weird part of the record
It seems like it′s really sort of a departure from the mood of what
Some of the others bits of the record will be about
But to me this is really what I think is the
Sort of the heart and soul of the new direction
That we thought we were trying to forge ahead in
Where it sort of feels a little bit like Black Sabbath
Maybe like a little bit of Herbie Hancock
It feels like an obvious nod
Into sort of like space rock territory
Not quite prog rock, only I think there's a little bit of that
Just strangely funky
Strangely kind of almost dissident rock
And for some reason being able to play that flute solo
Right next to that guitar solo
Feels like it could've come from a Stooges record
From their first record or something
It really was kind of, I thought really it was a fun, weird, new moment
And when we stumbled upon these sorts of things
When we′re recording
We don′t always know
Is it great, is it horrible, is it anything?
And sometimes that makes you think
Oh, that's why we should put it on the record
Because even for us it feels
"What is this band? Who′s playing this?"
So yeah I think, and again, I always feel like our instrumentals give you a break
From listening to me sing all the time
Even though now I'm talking over it
But the idea is like, you don′t always have to
Paying that much attention to me singing all the time
So yeah, it just gives you a little break from singing melodies
And listening to words
And just gets to jam out
