The night
Like ships adrift the clouds float by

The moon kaleidoscopes the ground
The darkness is as sure as death

The moon
Above it all a single pearl
Surrounded by her floating sisters
Blink like the eyes of souls to come
Scattered like some broken glass


But under the horizon

The sacred and profane

This world
It spins so fast it keeps us down
The shadows move to stop the sun
Days have no names and fall like leaves
In rhythm to an endless dance

This life
It finds its way in fits and starts
Laughter tears and broken parts
Clocks spin one way and never stop
These visions from a fevered dream
