The prisoner capsizes, then rises once more
Tooth knocked aside, eyes smiling wide
The torture he fought here with humour defied
The sentence swung down by judges of men
Who decreed that with speed his survival must end
This man they had framed for witchcraft and war
Invoked but a joke and would offer no more

Softer than fur, faster than light
She creeps to the keep up the tower in the night
Dark splits apart, appears he there
This sage in a cage as she sinks to despair
