The Streamers Songtext

The Streamers Songtext

The streams of Loch Linnhe′s sea
Divided in three parts
The young men and maidens
Meet their young sweethearts
It is drinking of good liquor
That has caused my heart to sing
The noise in yonder village
It made the rocks swing
At the bottom of this mountain
Runs a river clear
A ship from the Indies
Did once anchor here
With the red flags a-flying
And the beating of the drum
The sweet instruments of music
The firing of the gun

At the top of this mountain
Where the birds do fly
There's one amongst them
She flies so very high
If I had her in my arms
Near the diamond′s coal-black land
And soon I'd secure her
By the kindness of my hand
So come all you little streamers
From broad meadows gay
And write unto my love
Wherever she may lay
With the rosy lips entice me
And the tongue she tells me no
The angel might direct us
Wherever we should go
