Dim Chamber Songtext

Dim Chamber Songtext

In the deepest rooms with the belfry bats
I came to find myself a lover
I′d been looking for a while and I had begun to try
To give up on my looking altogether

I came across her lying there, crumpled dusty near the stairs
With her eyes all dried up like someone's water
I brushed my fingers across her cheek
Then she sliced me with her teeth
And when I had to pay me with the corner
On pain and death you must believe she makes lucky eyes to see
She′s as easy on the eyes as Jesus' daughter

But she left me three days out while sleeping on the lawn
Dreaming sweetly 'neath that yellow tree
The yellow tree brought to me songs my eyes never did see
And my ears knew not where they did come from
Strange sounds they stirred me so that I did not see her go
My love she left without some kind of warning

It′s a sore, sorry lie that you cannot tie in the night
To come open down the bike when you might need it

I could use some nightlight now
Suck the sunlight out the house
I got thinking needs some nightlight to be done

In the deepest rooms, caged up belfry bats
I came to find myself alone again

Some bottle rolled across the room and my wound had been strung
Into something me crushed up like a leaf

It′s a sore, sorry lie that you cannot tie in the night
To come open down the bike when you might need it

I could use some nightlight now
Suck the sunlight out the house
I got thinking needs some nightlight to be done
I got thinking needs some nightlight to be done
I got thinking needs some nightlight to be done

To be done
I got thinking needs some nightlight to be done
I got thinking needs some nightlight to be done
Oh, to be done
