Blackrock Songtext

Blackrock Songtext

There′s a man beside me
His anger spits in shouts
Telling me I'm better off
All the times you aren′t around
A problem with him is a problem solved
By kicking doors and throwing paws around
On a bad day, I don't fight him

I worked watch at the lighthouse
Blurring the hellos and goodbyes
Avoiding all disaster
Raising up the warning lights
The day my first ship crashed
Married on the white cliffside
I was hiding, I was hiding, I was hiding

And though he's found me out
I′ve been waiting for this time to come
The cars are fast gone
The world is slowing down, slowing down
At 95 I′m pushing out
I'm winding myself homeward bound
Won′t stop until my body hits the ground

Turning off my headlights
Man, I wanna scare myself good tonight
I've been driving for a good time
I′ve been waiting on the sunlight
To come washing on the pavement
And kill the shadows in the vacant
They're done hiding, I′m done fighting, I'm done fighting

I'm chasing every rush
And I′m throwing out my pride
I took my friends out camping
He was there making jumps across the fire
I leapt off of the quarry
He stayed trailing right behind
I know each time the call is close
I wish he′d die
But there's something in there inside

And I need him out
He′s tearing out a chapter of my life
And I'm begging now
I see a change, but what have I lived about this whole time?
In twelve bars and this sick home life
Won′t stop until my body hits the ground
