Living Alone Songtext

Living Alone Songtext
These days I′ve been living alone
Waking up a quarter to noon
Sometimes I hear your voice
Faintly from the other room
On the phone with your stepdad
Humming along to a song
It still smells like you on that side of the house
Where you'd sleep when I was wrong
And my hands still miss your hips
When we danced in the living room
I didn′t want the needle to skip
So we'd always take off our shoes
Records sound a little duller now
Food tastes a little bland
The skyline view I cleared for you
Is laughing at the circumstance
I used to wash the dishes while you read on the couch
I need to learn when to shut my mouth
Silence louder than the screams and shouts
TV stays on to drown it out
Now I'm living, living alone
Yeah, that′s living, living alone
I don′t recognize my face
When I look in the mirror these days
Eyes looking heavy and beard looking grey
Running out of words to say
You used to hate my British accent
And say it was way too strong
But the house felt warmer the more you laughed
So I always put it on
I used to wash the dishes while you read on the couch
Oh, I need to learn when to shut my mouth
Silence louder than the screams and shouts
TV stays on to drown it out
Now I'm living, living alone
Yeah, I′m living, living alone
Yeah, that's living, living alone
Yeah, I′m living, living alone
I used to wash the dishes while you read on the couch
Oh, I need to learn when to shut my mouth
Waking up a quarter to noon
Sometimes I hear your voice
Faintly from the other room
On the phone with your stepdad
Humming along to a song
