Supermarket Songtext
von Peter Combe

Supermarket Songtext

I rode on my bike to the baker shop
Bought some buns bought some bread bought some rolls bought some cake
I took ′em back home at the speed of sound
My mother said to me you could've bought that
At the supermarket, supermarket
Anything you want you can buy what you like at the supermarket

The next day I went to the fruit and veg shop
Bought some apples and some pears and bananas in pyjamas
My mother said to me when I got back home
Now listen don′t you know you could've bought all that –

My Daddy walked in with his arms full of stuff
He had cheese and milk and butter and yoghurt
Marmalade vegemite cocopops coon cheese
Naturally of course he had bought all this –
If you wanna go somewhere that's different you know
Where you don′t get a trolley and you walk down the row
You could go but a car or a bus or a truck
′Cos you won't find them I can tell you right now
And you won′t find a flute bassoon or tympani
Violin double bass playing in the symphony
You'll never find that if you spend every hour
Of the day and the night and you can′t take a shower –
