Ancient Songtext
von Otto Dix

The warmth went away from my hands
My eyes dont see the light.
A mirror told me lie again
And me so many years as yet.

The sand in glass flows, flows.
A hoarfrost sparkles on my temples.
A liquid ice flows in my veins.
There is no light in my eyes.

Old age made a thoughts slow
Conducts a blood with water
And fills my days with misery
Of dreams forever young

The warmth went away from my hands
My eyes dont see the light.
A mirror told me lie again
And me so many years as yet.

The sand in glass flows, flows.
A hoarfrost sparkles on my temples.
A liquid ice flows in my veins.
There is no light in my eyes

Old age made a thoughts slow
Infused my soul with fear
And make fastens the silence on the mouth

The sun getting cold will become a stone
And a fire will not get back

The sun getting cold will become a stone
And a fire will not get back
