I came to you, a skinny lad, unconscious to the latest fads
My tousled hair a shock of blonde from lying in the sun
You took me near, you held me dear, your radiance expelled my fears
But you said there was just one thing that needed to be done

Groomed hair, perfumed air, darling can′t you see?

I took to change so naturally, I revelled in the finery
We linked our arms and strode the streets to put ourselves on show
Reflections flattered to deceive, the mirror nods its head to me
I smile to myself inwardly, so proud what I've become

Spring was moulded on the breeze, then summer baked our new ideas
But autumn came and washed away, we morphed to fit the leaves
We flicked through memories by the
Fire, still life captured our desire
Flaved us between each vanished pose with teeth that row on row

Black, white, sepia, washed in all our glee
There never was a better man than the one you made of me

Winter blew the new phase in, chameleon she changed again
A leopard never shakes its spots, I guess I should have known
Who is he? It′s uncanny, and why is he the same as me?
At once I saw the folly in the lies that I had spun
