Staircase Songtext
von Martha Tilston

Staircase Songtext

Wherever you go to in this world
My old friend, know that life
Is a revolving door
Turn and you will find more
Life, the revolving door

Easy to waste so much time
In the room with borrowed light
And you′re stuck between fear and flight
Outside the sky is bright

And I dreamt that there's a staircase
Hidden behind a wall
And all these rooms in my house
I′d never seen before
Do you think that there's a staircase
Hidden behind that wall?
Or is everything we see everything?
Or is there more?

Sometimes I want to kick my boots and socks off
And stand on a lonely stage
When the audience have all gone home
And sing like I've never sung

I remember the first time you touched my mind
Well, I almost cried
Tectonic plates shifted inside
Planets and all their stars collide

And I dreamt that there′s a staircase
Hidden behind a wall
And all these rooms
I′d never seen before
Do you think that there's a staircase
Hidden behind that wall?
Or is everything we see here on earth everything?
I′ve wondered if there's more

Tonight I′m gonna kick my old boots off
And stand on this lonely stage
When all of you have gone home
And I'll sing like I′ve never sung
Sing like I've never sung
