Farther On Down The Road Songtext
von Mark Lowry

A little farther on down the road
A little farther on down the road
I′m gonna lay down this heavy load
A little farther on down the road
A little farther on down the road
A little farther on down the road
I'm gonna lay down this heavy load
A little farther on down the road

I′ve been walkin' many miles
Had my share of troubles and trials
I'm headed for a heavenly prize
That I will see with my own eyes

A little farther on down the road
A little farther on down the road
I′m gonna lay down this heavy load
A little farther on down the road

The road is narrow, rugged and steep
The mountains are high, the valleys are deep
I can′t stop now, I gotta move on
I think I see the lights of home

A little farther on down the road
A little farther on down the road
I'm gonna lay down this heavy load
A little farther on down the road

Farther along we′ll know all about it
Farther along we'll understand why
So cheer up, my brother
Live in the sunshine
We′ll understand it

A little farther on down the road
A little farther on down the road
I'm gonna lay down this heavy load
A little farther on down the road
A little farther on down the road
A little farther on down the road
I′m gonna lay down my heavy load
A little farther on down the road

Just a little farther on down the road
A little farther down the road
A little farther on down the road
Road
