I stumbled in this morning after working an all-night shift
Her note was on the freezer right beside the grocery list
"Well there′s good news and there's bad news,"
That′s how she started out
She finished with, "It's sure been fun, but it's all over now."

The good news is, she loves me
The bad news is, she′s gone
She said her momma said when things got rough to come on home
Well that′s all she wrote except she hopes I'll be alright alone

Whoever said that really must have had a lot of gall
′Cause they don't know how bad I feel or just how much I hurt
The good new couldn′t be better
But the bad news couldn't be worse
