Zephyr Songtext

Zephyr Songtext
One midsummer′s night I woke
In a forest that sang me to sleep
By a zephyr that brushed my brow
Diverged from the tempest above
It frolicked my hair and went down
Caressing my unadorned soul
Whispering my name, I arise to my feet
Moving through branches, it draws and beckons me
As the boughs arch overhead
And leaves above shelter from rain
Nudged by the wind I tread
The forest outside, the forest in me
Branches thick make way
For velvety cottongrass
That lead me to a water's edge
Mirroring all, it steals away my breath
Gazing down into the water
For a while that seems forever
The ripples that flow to my toes
Wash away my feet of clay
Falling down into the obscure
I drown and let myself go
And before long I wake by a zephyr
In the same old forest that earlier sang me to sleep
In a forest that sang me to sleep
By a zephyr that brushed my brow
Diverged from the tempest above
It frolicked my hair and went down
Caressing my unadorned soul
Whispering my name, I arise to my feet
Moving through branches, it draws and beckons me
As the boughs arch overhead
And leaves above shelter from rain
Nudged by the wind I tread
The forest outside, the forest in me
Branches thick make way
For velvety cottongrass
That lead me to a water's edge
Mirroring all, it steals away my breath
Gazing down into the water
For a while that seems forever
The ripples that flow to my toes
Wash away my feet of clay
Falling down into the obscure
I drown and let myself go
And before long I wake by a zephyr
In the same old forest that earlier sang me to sleep
