Before realizing
I′d begun my approach
Towards the siren
Drawing me into a realm of temptation


As I reached the precipice
Met with a foul acrid stench
I felt heat escaping the crater
As I braved down the inverted mountain

The air around fell heavy
As if weighing me down
My descent so effortless
Almost automatic

With every step increasing
The difficulty of re-emerging
