2 Sides Songtext

2 Sides Songtext
Two sides of the same city
I seen a church girl sittin′ front row, Bible in her hand
I seen a content girl online, buildin' her brand
One prayin′ for forever, one chasin' checks today
Both tryin' to find peace, just in a different way
See, people point fingers, talk loud, pick a side
Like one got all the answers and the other one got no pride
But I′m from a city where the truth don′t wear a crown
Sometimes the smiles be up when the souls be down
The church girl was taught "Hold on, be patient, stay pure"
The other girl learned "Get yours 'cause nothin′ else is sure"
Both heard a lesson from the world they came through
Both adapted to the game they was handed
Now folks askin' why the independent women seem to win
Why they stackin′ up the paper, why the attention rollin' in
Maybe it ain′t about the virtue, maybe it ain't about the sin
Maybe it's the market and how the dollars comin′ in
′Cause we said we wanted love, depth, conversation too
Late night talks, real connection
Somebody faithful and true
But too often what we chase is easy chicks with less stress
Quick comfort, quick pleasure
Avoidin' heartbreak and gettin′ finessed
We say commitment matter, we say we built for the long ride
But convenience got a powerful voice on the inside
Everybody want the harvest but ain't nobody waterin′ the field
Everybody want devotion but don't nobody wanna be real
Maybe that′s why the numbers rise, maybe that's a part of the cause
Not just the women adaptin' but the demand behind the applause
If attention is currency, somebody gon′ make a sale
Livin′ in a metaverse where promiscuous women prevail
So I don't blame the church girl and I don′t blame the creator
Both responded to the culture that got faster every year later
One lookin' for a husband, one lookin′ for financial freedom
Both searchin' for security in a world that never feed ′em
I'm just an old Memphis voice watchin' neon lights glow
Knowin′ every story deeper than what outsiders know
And the lesson ain′t who better, who righteous, who flawed
It's that people build their own lives
From the cards they been dealt by God
Maybe if we talk more, listen more
Stay present when things get hard
Maybe connection wouldn′t feel so odd
'Cause beneath every label, every image, every role
Most folks just want understandin′ and somebody for their soul
I seen a church girl sittin′ front row, Bible in her hand
I seen a content girl online, buildin' her brand
One prayin′ for forever, one chasin' checks today
Both tryin' to find peace, just in a different way
