Waking up too early
Staring at the fan
Like a helicopter without a place to land
Power lines are buzzing
Right outside the house
And the highway curving to the spiral I am headed down

I don′t wanna die beneath a sky that's painted grey
And a moon that shines so dull
A sorry paper plate hung on the wall


Standing by the water
Late into the night
Skipping rocks and dreaming about the other side
Hoping maybe someday
They′ll pile up below
And make a bridge to take us anywhere we wanna go

Cause I don't wanna lie beneath the ground that's painted red
And the air so thick and heavy keeping me in bed
When I look up it seems like all the stars have flown away
The empty moon all crumpled up
A sorry paper plate hung on the wall
