Garden Songtext
von Jacqueline Hackett

Garden Songtext

Stark white sheets and blinds shut closed
It′s early June, we're making plans for December
But we both know
Everything you want and nothing more
And I′d live my life for your smile
But you went along and dyed everything to do with you
Blue

But this time it's different, you say it's for me
You′re gonna go, build a garden
So big and green
And with my help, it′ll give you everything you need
And if it's bright enough
Maybe then you′ll be happy

August came and that's when you caved
So you pick up the phone
Leave a message
But no one′s ever home
I promise that I tried to call you back
And know I'm sorry I never called you back

But this time it′s different, you say it's for me
You're gonna go, build a garden
So big and green
And with my help, it′ll give you everything you need
And if it′s bright enough
Maybe then you'll be happy

But the summer let you down
And the grass turned brown
And the lights died out
And October came around

This time it was different, it was for you
You left, you built your garden
So big and green
And it had everything you could ever need
Fruits to sink your teeth in
Music for singing
And the loves of your life
And shining white gates
To keep the winter away
