Winter Holidays Songtext
von Ihor Lavrenenko

Frost on the window pane December rain turned to snow
City lights glowin bright got that holiday glow
Grandmothers kitchen steamin collard greens on the stove
Family comin through the door love is all that I know
Kids runnin round the tree rippin paper off gifts
While Im sippin cocoa slow let the memories drift
Used to scrape pennies together now the table is full
Blessings counted every night man this season is cool

Snowflakes driftin down soft on the project steps
Old heads playin dominoes cold breath in their chests
I reflect on the year all the highs and the lows
Made it through another winter watch the gratitude grow

Winter holidays winter holidays
Feel the warmth inside when its cold for days
Winter holidays winter holidays
Gather round the fire let the spirit blaze

Yo the block look different with the Christmas lights hung
Everybody actin peaceful even beefs get undone
Little cousins want the new Js I remember that feeling
When a fresh pair of sneakers had your whole soul healing
Now Im givin back thats the meaning of the season
Every struggle that I had was for a bigger reason
Mama prayin at the table head bowed eyes closed
Thankin God for the journey for the highs and the lows

Steam risin from the plates uncle tellin old stories
Bout the winters back when all the pain and the glories
Snow blankets the streets like a canvas of white
Merry Christmas to my people hold your loved ones tight

Winter holidays winter holidays
Feel the warmth inside when its cold for days
Winter holidays winter holidays
Gather round the fire let the spirit blaze
