Bleeding into summer

The hush of brightness calls


You pulled the roots, in the evening
You plucked the fruits, in the evening
Blossoms smelled their strongest
They wept sweet sap across your hands

The hush of darkness falls

When you touched them
You came so close
To the knowing
Without knowing
How close you had come
