Anniversary Songtext
von Grand Rapids

Faintly stood at the bridge in the brown night
And from afar there came a song, a golden drawl
Swelled across the shivering surface

Anniversary of the day we met
You sang me a gondola song
Swam across to meet me at the water′s edge

Gondolas, lights and music
Drunk and swam out into the blue
My soul a stringed instrument

Touched by invisible hands
Laughing with gaudy happiness

Anniversary of the day we met
You sang me a gondola song
Swam across to meet me at the water's edge
Anniversary of the day we met
Oh, you sang me a gondola song
Swam across to meet me at the water′s edge

But was anyone listening
From our boat shaped empire?
