The Game Songtext
von Glyn Devey

The Game Songtext

He wants more from life than he′s prepared to give
He thinks the world owes him; that he's privileged
He doesn′t see it, that he's making all the problem in his way
Defensive pride conceals is ignorance
His apathy morphs into arrogance
His snide demeanour covers all the things he's just too scared to say

The lies eat into his brain, to hide all of what he′s ashamed
It′s a wonder he knows his own name

He's a lonely man, he feels his losing the game
Doubting his luck, losing his hope; he is to blame
He′s a lonely man afraid of losing the game
Refuses to see, he makes I shown world; he's to blame

He tries so hard to please his family
He works day and night to heat, to clothe, to feed
He doesn′t see it, but he hasn't seen his little baby grow
Frustrated wife she feels alone at night
She wants him there to love, to hold her tight
She wants her husband, not the money; she packs her things to go

He simply feels that there′s no need to say
He supports her but in his own way
They're not listening, now ain't that a shame

He′s a lonely man, he feels his losing the game
Doubting his luck, losing his hope; he is to blame
He′s a lonely man afraid of losing the game
Refuses to see, he makes I shown world; he's to blame

He′s a lonely man, he feels his losing the game
Doubting his luck, losing his hope; he is to blame
He's a lonely man afraid of losing the game
Refuses to see, he makes I shown world; he′s to blame
