Cardboard Box Songtext
von GlobalWaveSystem

If I was born in a barn
If I was a wanderer
If I ate with criminals
If my friends were prostitutes
If I gave sight to the blind
If I gave health to the sick
If I cleansed the leper′s skin
If I caused the deaf to hear
If I raised the dead and preached
The good news to the poor
If I caused a man to shake
If I knocked him to the floor
If I gave him tongues to speak
If I let him prophesy
If I told you eat my flesh
If I told you drink my blood
If I was the only way

If I was the Son of God
If I offended your religion
If I insulted your tradition
If I made you reconsider
If I held you to the fire
If I asked you to change your ways
If I had you give it all away
If I asked you for your life
If I bade you come and die
Would you wait for someone else?
Yes because
My God lives in a cardboard box
I will not let him do anything
That won't fit in my theology
I′m so proud I've got it figured out
How I can fit him
Inside my cardboard box
