Funerals [Intermission] Songtext

Funerals [Intermission] Songtext
Well, I suppose the moment has come when I have to mention the
Elephant in the room: the festive season. Because we′re still in it
Not 'til like January 6th, tough night, no. It′s still the festive
Season, and a lot of people find it very tiresome, but I love it!
I absolutely love it, I love it, Christmas, New Year, I love the
Whole bang shoot. I love it because it's parties non-stop. And I
Have to be honest with you, every night after the show, we've been
Having a party backstage, it′s been absolutely marvellous. Now
Quite a lot of my contemporaries have started saying, "Oh, no
I don′t go out at night, can't, can′t see to drive anymore." Oh
Bugger that. I'm a party animal, always have been, always will be
I′m first to arrive, last to leave, that's me, yeah. Uh, but I have
Noticed that over the years, my imperative has changed. For instance
When I was young, I first went to a party, the first thing I would
Look for would be to see if there was somebody attractive in
The room. And then, you know, a little later, as my career
Started to, uh, take off a bit, I would look to see if there
Was anyone important. And now when I go to a party, the first
Thing I look for is a chair. In fact, I think it′s an awfully
Good idea to bring your own. I'm off to a party now, "Oh
Hello, Madeleine, how are you? Those canapés look lovely."
