Dead Dog Songtext

Dead Dog Songtext

I understood we lost our fortified dynamic
It softened the blow so that the end was less than tragic
I was twenty-six or so, I couldn′t see the future
Then sought romance exclusively on my computer

But she said she wouldn't wanna stay
But she said she wouldn′t wanna stay if it
Meant I'd be at the same old dead-end job

I could sense she was lying when she told that story about me
Everybody smiled, but I could see right through her legerdemain
I was twenty-nine or so, I didn't have the courage
To fix the problem, guess my spine was all malnourished

And she said she wouldn′t wanna stay
And she said she wouldn′t wanna stay
And she said she wouldn't wanna stay if the
Flame was slowly flickering out again

I′m thinking about you like the heat in early fall
A distant memory regret just can't dissolve
Your faded image, I can′t recall
I'm thinking about you like a dead dog

And they said they wouldn′t wanna stay
And they said they wouldn't wanna stay
And they said they wouldn't wanna stay if it
Meant I′d never commit

I′m thinking about you like the heat in early fall
A distant memory regret just can't dissolve
Your faded image, I can′t recall
I'm thinking about you like a dead dog
