I met him on the open road one silver summer morning
A flowing beard and long brown hair, his eyes were like the sun
I took him for a brother and I offered him a smile
We stood there in the dust and the heat, we both talked a while

He said, "I am a traveler from a distant place
And yet I am a stranger here, just look into my face
I′ve been away for far too long, I've come once more alone
I don′t believe I'll leave again, this shall be my home"


I told him I had traveled too and I asked him where he'd been
Perhaps our paths had crossed one day, perhaps they might again
He stood upon the road at first with distance in his eyes
And his voice was like the music, north wind in the sky

He stood above an atmosphere, the colors of his eyes
He looked at me so deeply, my soul was all desire
He told me without speaking in the rhythms of a dream
And in my soul I saw a sight no eyes had ever seen

He said, "I′ve been upon the mountain and I′ve sailed the timeless sea
Yes, I've touched the depths of loneliness to learn how to be free
I ride the empty light years and I whisper through the leaves
I′m a mirror and a rainbow, I'm called the Prince of Peace"
