But sometimes the weather messes with my head
I never would have noticed if not for the grey

She's safe and sound
Sound asleep on my lap here at home

Yeah, all of the times my house smells like bookshops
I turn as if to tell you
But I'm on my own

And I wanna say "goodnight"
And I wanna say "I hope you′re well"
But we both know better than to ask
Stupid questions at a time like this

And I wanna call you home
And I wanna run the record back
But my chances are shot and I ran outta luck
My sanity starts to crack

And I'm telling jokes
